Michael-
Very classy of you not to pass on your "gift!" Hope you get well soon.
I was going to say to you about the dim asteroid problem that 2 things might be at work: first, you may not have a good flat that you're subtracting - this messes up photometry of faint objects more since the zero point of your intensity scale is wrong; second, remember that the statistics of faint objects are really poor - one needs at least a 10:1 signal:noise ratio in order to get .1 mag accuracy, and you won't get that with faint stars.

Hello Rob et al, I came down with what I hoped was a small cold Thursday. It have turned into a chest cough. I don't want to do the uncivilized thing and make a present of the virus that is taking up residence!! Therefore, I know I'm not going to be better later today. I will, with apologizes, miss today's meeting. My biggest regret will be to miss Allen's talk. It's times like this, and all the other time we have unique and information talks, that I regret we don't make video movies for the web. Just think how it might enhance the reach of this small club. Heck, we might even get some EAS folks to start chipping into the MDAS coffers just for the privilege of attending!! Michael P.S. - I can't think of a theme or cause that does not use web video to make itself hear. Whether it is a presidential candidate, or my Charles Schwab broker, everyone seems to be assuming I can no longer read. ;-) --- In mdasimaging@yahoogroups. , "Michael Kran" <michael.kran@com ...> wrote:Hello Rob, Yes.
