I've often thought of installing a subminiture power Jack in the battery compartment. Then one could plug in power (either from a wall wart or a cig lighter adaptor. But it seems there is always something else taking my time. Plus the cramped area in the battery compartment probably won't allow both batteries and a power Jack to reside there: it's pretty tight
