BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) to our new supporters!

Dennis, Kennedy, Samwel and all,

I spoke with Dennis Kimambo +254 722 388 275 Safaricom. The central roads
are being blocked again and the tribes along them (such as the Kalenjin
youth) are hijacking the food, as they are short themselves. The police
have been ruthless with demonstrators and shooting some. The police force
is divided and it is common for the police of one tribe to be made to
serve in an area of another tribe.

Dennis is urging mixed demonstrations with people from different tribes
and with a focus on peace rather than politics. He will travel soon from
Nakuru to Rusinga Island to visit Samwel Kongere and check on his
condition and needs, and to Kuresoi to evaluate the situation, and also to
Eldoret. The Peace Caravan is also an important initiative. Dennis said
it would be most useful now to send cash to him.

We have received donations, notably from Maine, thanks to Clark Boyd's
report. Thank you to Ruth in Maine who writes: " I have sent $100.00 to
you through paypal - I heard about your efforts on National Public Radio.
I would like the money to go to the phone cards for people in Kenya. Thank
you - If this works it is a beautiful thing. Peace, Ruth" And also
Rebecca in Maine ($50) and Sarah in California ($25). Pamela McLean also
reports a credit card donation of £25.00 to CAWD with the message "I would
like this donation to support individuals and peace efforts in Kenya,
particularly members of the Samburu and Masai tribes". We need to wait
until we raise £100.00 before we can withdraw that but meanwhile I will
provide that money.

The money that we've collected for the Pyramid of Peace is for
distribution outward, encouraging people to share with others and reach
out to them, and encouraging them to make themselves public by posting
their telephone numbers and signing up their emails. Thank you Dennis for
your report below and I encourage us to send them. I will send Dennis
$200 by Western Union as cash ($100 towards his new telephone) and $50 as
phone credits to Achami and $50 to Rono as phone credits. I'm accepting
donations by PayPal at ms@... and see also the links at http://www.ms.lt
I invite all to join our email working groups such as Holistic Helping
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/holistichelping/ led by Janet Feldman, send
a blank letter to holistichelping-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Thank you to Sasha Mrkailo for teaching Fred Kayiwa and Kiyavilo Msekwa
how to update our wiki with the latest news from our letters.

I pray for Samwel's health and I ask us all for our love and prayers.
Thank you to Dan Otedo and Ricardo for keeping us posted.

Thank you to Wesley Chirchir and all for your great efforts for peace.
Thank you to Steve Bosserman and Samuel Rose for preparing a handbook for
African American immigrants in Columbus, Ohio and beyond to learn how to
purchase cell phone minutes for people in Kenya.

Greetings from Torino, Italy where all news has been good. Minciu Sodas
will organize the March 31, 2008 meeting of COMMUNIA
http://www.communia-project.eu for the Ethical Public Domain. I will
start work to invite Samwel Kongere, Kennedy Owino, Fred Kayiwa to this
event and also I will seek funding to invite Dennis Kimambo, Josephat
Ndibalema, Kiyavilo Msekwa, Wendi Losha Bernadette, David Mutua and others
if we can. So please consider this in your plans, best would be one month
stays. Also, I invite all of us to consider being there for March 29 -
April 1 because we will have an intensive work session of Minciu Sodas on
the occassion of our 10th anniversary and to make progress on our Includer
http://www.includer.org and other projects. I alert all of our
participants, especially in Europe, to consider participating as well.

Dennis Kimambo:

Things are good in some parts of Kenya while other places its still not
safe, the situation is not being helped by the police who are using
excessive force to disperse crowds here, yesterday Nakuru was very tense
and, following protest that were made not possible by the heavy presence
of the police, I talked to Rachael who is planning to organize a peace
caravan for rift valley. I did distribute airtime worth 11000 to the
network focusing more on Kuresoi and Kericho.

I talked also to Grace soi who is in Kericho and helping women there with
food and medicine, her immediate need is transport for women who are ready
to go travel back to there homes, in parts of Kisumu food is what they
need and Jacob Ogweno needs money for the school students and operations
there.

Achami who is our main contact in Kuresoi +254 720613379 was attacked
yesterday at there camp with over 400 young people at his point he is so
discouraged but stil trying to engage more people into the process one
search person that I have been able to send airtime to is
Rono+254723732617(he is a Kalenjin elder) who is trying to engage young
Kalenjins there, slowly he is making gains on the process he needs
transportation in order to reach more young Kalenjins there.

Will be back with more later now that I have a chance to read emails.
