Kims, Thank you to your friend Elibariki for your courageous report and
heartfelt support. I know that you have already spent at least $70 of
the $100 we sent. Your work and swift response was key in the very
beginning when there was a media blackout and there seemed to be nothing
we could do. We have limited resources for now but we know the great
value of your ability and willingness. We can also spread your news.
Please wait now so and keep the rest of the money for your own needs and
I look forward to asking for your help on more paid projects some day in
the future. I have also set up for you a working group Kims Success
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/kimssuccess/ which will be in
Kiswahili and focus on your deepest value "my success and the success of
those around me" with special interest in building PCs and sharing that
knowledge in Kiswahili. I invite all of us to sign up by sending a
blank message to kimssuccess-subscribe@yahoogroups.com You can change
the name and the settings at any time. Thank you for demonstrating your
ability to "work for free" and respond to an opportunity to help. You
and Elibariki are wonderfully brave! Andrius Kulikauskas, Minciu Sodas,

Hello Andrius, and the rest of the group.
Before I start to give you guys my report I would like to thank my
friend Elibariki who is staying here in Arusha because he helped me
get to Namanga because it was my first time there and I did not know
anything about it but he was able to show me where I can go and he
also seems to be interested and he wants to join us. He actually did
computer maintenance like me and right now he engages himself in
community development project and he want to set up his own NGO
that concerns with rural areas woman development. So don't be
suprised by the use of "we" in this report
I arrived back yesterday about 4:30pm East African time from Namanga
the Boarder between Tanzania and Kenya here in Arusha about 120 Km
from Arusha town. I manage to get into Kenya and I spent the night
at a place called Mile 9(from Miles 9 to Nairobi it's almost 160
Kilometers) for me to get access to learn what is happening in
Kenya. The thing is that I have experienced peace all around there
and people are able to make necessary movements without clashes. It
seem that not all parts of Kenya that peace situation is getting
worse.
Peace in Mile Tisa (9 Miles) is quite okay and people are able to
make different movements unlike Nairobi and other parts such as
Kiseria, Kisumu etc. In the country side the situation is quite okay
As I was moving from Arusha, I had a small chat with the bus
conductor his name is Waziri. He told us that he meet some people
coming from Kenya where there is a tribal conflicts and told us that
the number of people coming from Kenya is high compared with those
who are going to Kenya. Never the less those who manage to escape
from Nairobi where there clashes rent some room in the Guest House
here in Namanga and they are staying here for a while hoping
everything will be okay soon. The impression I had in the first
place was that the situation was worse in all over Kenya but it was
not what we had experienced; but people have managed to escape and
fled to Namanga.
As I arrived at the boarder I went to the Tanzanian Immigration
office to collect some information about the refugees but they
denied to give us relevant information's concerning the refugees
from Kenya. They were not cooperative at all despite of presenting
the letter to them, they want us to go back to Arusha to have a
those information's from Regional Immigration Officer (RIO).
Then we decide to hang out for a while and we come across a lady
known as Esther from Kiseria (Which is very close to Nairobi), She
and her friends took a short vacation to Tanzania, avoiding clashes
from their place to keep themselves safe.
We also meet a guard at the boarder who is Mr. Mushi who helped us
to find information's. He show us where to go to collect
information's from a man called Hassan who stay's in Namanga on
Kenya side to let us up to date with the situation so far and he
even show us some of the people who are coming from Nairobi hoping
to find peace at Namanga.
As we were finding for further information's I come across Nancy and
her young sister Sanaipea they are studying in Nairobi. They helped
us and let us spent the night at their family home and we also meet
their mother Debra who give us some information. They actually live
in Nairobi but they come to Mile 9(9 Miles) for a short vacation but
it was before the outbreak. Mrs. Debra Shinini told us that Nairobi
doesn't seem fine and it turns to a chaos for everyone. She said
that she afraids because she got no access to the bank. She also
told us that she doesn't think the enermity between the Kikuyu
people and other tribes will end soon, it will take quite a long
time for it to come to a conclusion.
It is quite clear that despite of Kikuyu and Jalou the rest of
Kenyan's dispprove Kibaki being the Presindent of Kenya. I don't
think this will be good for the Kenyans but I hope that they will be
able to solve their Problems soon.
When we were back at the Namanga we meet two other man who were
working in Nairobi Saitoti and Samwel, they said that the got a
chance to escape and they worked for a bit long distance before they
found transportation to take them to Namanga.
I think that the situation is unpredictable since the violence
eruptions just take place any time without people understand what is
going on.
I will try to find a way to get to the other boarder situated in
Kilimanjaro to see if I can find out anything at the time being. In
the mean time I don't have futther informations.
I hope that this report will help us to find necessary solutions
that we all need to understand about the situation in Kenya and Help
those who has come across problems so far.
Yours
Kims
