Subject: MetSoc input to WMO RA V

Dear Jim,

The World Meteorological Organization is holding the thirteenth meeting of its Regional Association V (South West Pacific) in Manilla between 21 and 28 May this year. I will attend as Permanent Representative with the WMO, and am canvassing the meteorological community for input.

Documents for the meeting can be found on the WMO website at www.wmo.ch then “meetings” then “WMO Constituent body sessions” then “XIII-RA-V”.  Below is the listing of topics and this will lead you to the appropriate documents. In conjunction with David Wratt, a number of individuals have been identified that may have an interest in particular subjects, and they are noted in the listing.

I invite the Meteorological Society to provide me with comments on issues that you would like me to represent at this meeting, preferably with  draft texts that I could use in interventions. David Wratt is coordinating any NIWA input, however society members may have their own points to register.

Thank-you,

John

John R Lumsden
Permanent Representative of New Zealand with WMO
