Main Conference Room, NIWA, Greta Point
NIWA can map any aspect of New Zealand's climate. We build our maps
using data from the extensive national climate database, satellite data,
and
output from global-scale and local-scale climate models. Current uses
of
maps provided by NIWA range from identifying land suitable for growing
grapes, olives, and peas to tourism advertising to analysing rodent
habitats.
This public seminar will show examples of the types of maps we can
produce, highlight the potential applications for the maps and
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data layers, and will promote
NIWA's new climate mapping service.
If you would like to attend please let a.tait@... know in
advance.
Please take a copy of this invite with you and report to NIWA reception.
