The Wellington branch of the METEOROLOGICAL SOCIETY is hosting a seminar
this week:
Tuesday 24 May, 7:30pm
Science House (RSNZ), 11 Turnbull St, Thorndon
An investigation into New Zealand's climate during the Last Glacial Maximum: a
climate modelling approach
Frank Drost, VUW/NIWA PhD candidate
Frank will cover the highlights of his recently-completed PhD study of the
climate during the LGM, approximately 20,000 years ago. He has used global and
regional modelling to simulate the LGM climate over the NZ region, for
comparison with proxy data and with a modern-day "control" simulation. His
results provide an interesting perspective on glacial-intergacial climate
changes.
