Meteorological Society seminar
2pm Thursday 14 July 2005
NIWA Greta Point conference room

"Climate variability, climate change, and the IPCC 4th Assessment"
David Wratt, Jim Renwick, and Dave Lowe
NIWA

This talk will summarise some of the main aspects of current research on the
physical climate system. As well as covering science issues, the talk will touch
on the process through which the science is being assessed and reviewed for the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's Fourth Assessment Report (AR4).

The speakers are involved in research on climate dynamics and chemistry, and
applications of climate information, and all three are involved in the
development of the Working Group I Report for AR4, which summarises the physical
science basis for our understanding of climate and climate change.

For further information, contact Jim Renwick on (04) 973 2523
