Hi,
I'm new to the group and I'm afraid I am a bit of a novice to all of
this.
I have salvaged an old mic from an old analogue broadcast quality
video camera. I think the mic is pretty good quality so I would like
to be able to use it. The Camera was a JVC and the mic is, I think a
JVC M-K50U. The connection into the video camera is through a 6-pin
connector which I take to be a proprietary one so I'd like to wire it
to something more useful. It's obviously a stereo mic and I'd like to
rewire it to a standard XLR connection. Ideally a single XLR. (is
that a bad idea?) Unfortunately, I don't know what wires are what or
how to find out. I have posted a number of photos below in the hope
that someone can help. I have also loaded them into a folder called
<JVC M-K50U> in the Photos Section in case anyone has difficulty
viewing the attachments.
1. JVC M-K50U - with sleeve

2. JVC M-K50U - without sleeve

3. JVC M-K50U - Tip

4. JVC M-K50U - section behind tip

5.JVC M-K50U - middle section

6. JVC M-K50U - wires from rear of mic to 6-pin connector

7. JVC M-K50U - wires from rear of mic into rear of 6-pin connection
which attached to camera

JVC M-K50U - 6-pin connection that plugs into the video camera

Hope some of you can offer some help.
Thanks,
Colin
