Colin,
Do you mean you would like to rewire the microphone to a 3-pin XLR? If so,
thats not going to work unless you know how to build a M/S stereo encoder.
If I had that microphone I would probably rewire the connector to a Neutrik
6-pin. My first look at the photos seems that there are two capsules, both
with positive and negative audio leads. The other two leads are likely to be
the 9VDC supply from the camera and a common ground. Heres a little about
the microphone I found if you haven't yet...
Type : Electret condenser
Sensitivity : -52 dB
S/N ratio : 50 dB
Frequency response : 70 to 16000 Hz
Output impedence : 600 ohms, balanced
Power requirement : 9 V DC (provided from camera)
Ambient temperature : -5 to +45 C (+23 to +113 F)
Weight : 270 g (0.6 lbs)
Design and specifications subject to change without notice.
---
Hope any of this helps!
