It was that spec that prompted my buying the
microphone. I've been conspiring with Rob Danielson
behind the scenes to find reasonable low-noise
microphones at reasonable prices. The shocker on this
is: Are you ready?

My sample of the AT3032 tested out at 8 dBA self
noise. That's 8 dB better than the manufacturer's
spec. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop
and find out that the microphone blows up after 2
weeks of use. I do have to say that the noise quality
is not as good as with the Schoeps, but it is quieter
than the Schoeps.

Does that mean that you couldn't hear the samples that
