Thanks for your offer. Please take a look at the attached files, here's the
description:
* duplicat - icons for duplicates list (equal, shorter name, longer path,
unknows,
doesn't exist, different)
* hcToolbar - high color toolbar, with all icons, but some are ugly
* hgToolbar - disabled icons (gray)
* hcToolbar1 - old version of toolbar, fewer icons but higher quality
* hbToolbar1 - disable icons for old version
Please let me know if you would be able to improve or redraw some icons. You can
also add
new icons for actions available in menu.

some small improvements. If you have any suggestions please tell me.
Changes will include better file properties dialog and better
handling of moved files.

BTW: I'm looking for a person with some graphic skills, willing to
help me improving toolbar icons.

Dear MIDIcat users,

There wasn't any updates for quite a long time, because I've been
busy preparing a new version. In the meantime my system crashed, so
I had to reinstall all the software. But don't worry, MIDIcat
sources are being backed up on regular basis, so I didn't lose any
of my work.
The new version is currently in early beta, so it isn't yet availabe
for download, however it you would like to test it, please contact
me and I'll send you one (the beta is available only in English
version).
The most important change is rewritten scanning engine, which is now
much faster and powerful. Here's a summary what to expect in the new
version:
  * NEW: faster and better two-phase scanning
  * improved progress dialog
  * files are sorted before scanning
  * faster detecting moved files
  * option to keep database backup when saving
  * warning when trying to save a large database with a demo version

Thanks for the comment. I'm going to include the tour in the help system.

It's just a number of the step in the tour - they helped me to find
out which step I was editing. And then I forgot to remove some of them.

I not understand some numbers in titles , ie: Feature
tour 03 in Scanning, 04 in main view but nothing in
Editing.

Hello,

The version 1.3.42 has been available on the site for a while and it
seems to be quite stable. Therefore I'd recommend all users to upgrade
and gain some benefits like:
* much faster saving
* versatile export engine
* new improved progress dialog

Note: Please do not use version 1.2.41 because it has a confirmed bug,
that can lead to a database corruption.

It's been a long time since the last news, and there's a lot of changes.

1. New site.
MIDIcat web site has moved to the new server. Now it's hosted by a
professional provider, with very fast transfers and no annoying pop-ups.
I've even registered my own, easy to remember domain: midicat.net (com was
already taken). This main site will be updated most frequently and the
others will remain just mirrors. The new support address is now:
support@...

2. New version.
After weeks of programming and testing new version has been released. Lot's
of changes in the code, but for end-uses most important are: detecting moved
files (very useful), more compatible internal player and German translation
(thanks Norbert Pollmann). You can find more information and download it
from the new site. Code cleanup should allow me to release new versions more
frequently. Stay tuned.

3. Mailing group.
The old message board didn't work well, so I've decided to open a mailing
list. I'll post important information about MIDIcat there, you can also ask
questions and exchange your knowledge regarding MIDI and MIDIcat. Visit

4. Beta program
For users who like to receive new versions more frequently and aren't afraid
of some bugs, that might appear in a beta version I offer the beta program.
Participants will get unofficial versions for testing and I'll expect them
to send me some feedback (what's working, what isn't, missing translations,
etc.). Drop me a mail if you want to join.

5. Future plans.
I have still a long list of things to-do. The nearest is much improved
exporting to Access, Excel and text files. You can even see the menu entries
in the latest version, but the are disabled because they didn't work
properly. Other positions include: improved help system, even easier
duplicate removing, faster scanning, more translations and better searching.
I'll consider adding basic support for MP3 files. You are welcome to send
you suggestions.
