Excellent!!

seq Belinda Hadiwidjaja

"Hopelessly Devoted to You", written by John Farrar, is a song originally performed by Olivia Newton-John. The song, featured in the film version of Grease, received an Oscar nomination as Best Original Song, losing to "Last Dance" at the 51st Academy Awards. It reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming another hit from the film.

Olivia Newton John: Hopelessly Devoted to You

Guess mine is not the first heart broken,
my eyes are not the first to cry I'm not the first to know,
there's just no gettin' over you
Hello, I'm just a fool who's willing to sit around
and wait for you
But baby can't you see, there's nothin' else
for me to do I'm hopelessly devoted to you
But now there's nowhere to hide,
since you pushed my love aside I'm not in my head,
hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you,
hopelessly devoted to you
My head is saying "fool, forget him",
my heart is saying "don't let go"
Hold on to the end, that's what I intend to do
I'm hopelessly devoted to you
But now there's nowhere to hide,
since you pushed my love aside I'm not in my head,
hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you,
hopelessly devoted to you

Good!

seq Doc Doc & Herb

"Foreplay/Long Time" are two popular rock songs commonly grouped together from the classic rock band Boston, on the 1976 eponymous Boston album. It combines two songs, "Foreplay" and "Long Time" which are generally played as one on radio and are listed as "Foreplay/Long Time" on the album, as one track.

"Foreplay" is a progressive instrumental prelude, primarily consisting of rapid triplet arpeggios on Hammond M3 organ with a bass part doubled by a clavinet, and drums, with lead guitar joining at the end. According to Tom Scholz, leader and producer of Boston, the synthesizer-like swoops were not produced with synthesizers, but rather by scraping a pick along a string of a guitar. It was written in 1969. In February of 1977, the song hit #22 on the U.S. charts, and #11 on charts in the UK .

"Long Time" is a lyrical song released as a single. It was one of the band's biggest hits.

"Long Time" was used as the background music for a series of television commercials, titled "Timeless," for NASCAR in 2004, featuring a hypothetical race between drivers and cars of all eras of NASCAR competition.

"Foreplay/Long Time" is featured as a playable track in the video game Rock Band.

"Foreplay/Long Time" is played during Part 1 of the Season 2 finale of the television show Supernatural.

Foreplay/Long Time

Its been such a long time
I think I should be goin, yeah
And time doesnt wait for me, it keeps on rollin
Sail on, on a distant highway
Ive got to keep on chasin a dream
Ive gotta be on my way
Wish there was something I could say.

Well Im takin my time, Im just movin on
Youll forget about me after Ive been gone
And I take what I find, I dont want no more
Its just outside of your front door.

Its been such a long time. its been such a long time.

Well I get so lonely when I am without you
But in my mind, deep in my mind,
I cant forget about you
Good times, and faces that remind me
Im tryin to forget your name and leave it all behind me
Youre comin back to find me.

Well Im takin my time, Im just movin on
Youll forget about me after iv e been gone
And I take what I find, I dont want no more
Its just outside of y our front door.

Its been such a long time. its been such a long time.

Yeah. its been such a long time, I think I should be goin, yeah
And time dosnt wait for me, it keeps on rollin
Theres a long road, Ive gotta stay in time with
Ive got to keep on chasin that dream, though I may never find it
Im always just behind it.

Well Im takin my time, Im just movin along
Takin my time, just movin along
Takin my time, takin my time...

Denis,

I have a Yahoo group called "John Denver MIDI Music." Follow the link and you will find at least 52 different MIDI versions of "Country Roads."

Just as with this Midkar group, Yahoo requires that you join the group before you can access the files link on the left. All of the John Denver MIDI's are arranged in folders alphabetically in the files section.

If you are not a member of the group, request to joiin. To avoid spam, I must approve your membership. I'll be away until after midnight tonight (Saturday) but will approve your membership when I get home.

My group is the single largest source of MIDI's of John Denver's music online. So check it out. You might want to use something else, too.

Nice!!

seq Michael Stipe

"Losing My Religion" is a song by the American alternative rock band R.E.M. The song was released as the first single from the group's 1991 album Out of Time. Based around a mandolin riff, "Losing My Religion" was an unlikely hit for the group, garnering heavy airplay on radio as well as on MTV due to its critically-acclaimed music video. The song became R.E.M.'s highest-charting hit in the United States, reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and expanding the group's popularity beyond its original fanbase. It was nominated for several Grammy Awards, and won two for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Short Form Music Video.

REM: Losing My Religion

Oh, life is bigger
It's bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no, I've said too much
I set it up

(chorus)
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight, I'm
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no, I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper
Of every waking hour I'm
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool, fool
Oh no, I've said too much
I set it up
Consider this
Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream
That was just a dream

(repeat chorus)

But that was just a dream
Try, cry, why try?
That was just a dream
Just a dream, just a dream
Dream

Very nice!

seq Renegade75

"Lost In Your Eyes" (Atlantic 88970; Atlantic UK A8970; Atlantic Japan 10P3-6057) is the sixth single from American singer-songwriter-actress Deborah Gibson, and the first from her second album Electric Youth (LP 81932). Released in late 1988, the love ballad climbed to number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and remained there for three weeks, becoming her most successful single. Additionally, "Lost" reached number three on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. The song had been written by Gibson in late 1987 and published by Creative Bloc Music, Ltd. and Deborah Ann's Music in early 1988 (rights now administered by Music Sales Corporation (ASCAP)); a beta arrangement had been performed on the Out of the Blue Tour.

One variant mixed from the original multitrack, "Lost in Your Eyes" (Piano and Vocal Mix/3:34), was only available in Europe as Track 3 of the CD3 release #A8970CD.

The Remake of 2006

In 2006, Gibson rearranged her hit song with Tim and Ryan O'Neill for the O'Neill Brothers album Someone You Love, where the resulting "Lost in Your Eyes (Acoustic Version)" became an album track.

Debbie Gibson: Lost In Your Eyes

Verse 1:
I get lost in your eyes
And I feel my spirits rise
And soar like the wind..
Is it love that I am in?

I get weak in a glance
Isnt that whats called romance?
...and now I know
cause when Im lost I cant let go

Chorus:
I dont mind not knowing what Im headed for
You can take me to the skies...
Its like being lost in heaven
When Im lost in your eyes

Verse 2:
I just fell, dont know why
Somethings there we cant deny...
And when I first knew
Was when I first looked at you

And if I cant find my way
If salvation seems worlds away
Oh, Ill be found
When I am lost in your eyes

Chorus:
I dont mind not knowing what Im headed for
You can take me to the skies...
Oh its like being lost in heaven
When Im lost in your eyes

Verse 3:
I get weak in a glance
Isnt this whats called romance?
Oh, Ill be found
When I am lost in your eyes

you're spot on. The Carpenters sang it but it originated with the Seasame Street program. As the score mentions both I thought I'd better say so. The music comes from a Carpenetrs Anthology I have!

Before anyone can help you, keep in mind that when making a request,
please include the song title and preferred artist style.
Just because a MIDI can't be found in a search, does not mean it doesn't exist,
and many of our members here have extensive collections.

as this is my first post to this list, I'll introduce myself dirst: My
name is Christian Hoff and I'm a student from Germany. I started getting
into the MIDI business when I tried to play the old MIDI sound files
from an old DOS game, but couldn't figure out how to do it :-) . By then
my collection has grown every week and comprises now what must be about
300 files, though that's probably nothing compared to the collections of
must guys out here.

Attached is one of the best MIDIs I have found so far. It's really worth
listening to, even if you're not a fan of Akon.

Good evening, Dan,

What a huge culture base you got!

1899-11-23: was it Edison's wax cylinders or already disc recordings ?

I just went to Wikipedia hearing some of those earlier cylinders.
Can you imagine how fast technology is running? This was almost yesterday.

Thanks a lot for your most valuable articles.

Best regards from France
Arthur.

Hello,

Daniel Rowe is an American composer (and sequencer) of original MIDI music of various styles such as pop, rock-techno, country, symphonic, hard rock, jazz, Latin, international, rhythm and blues, easy listening, new age, contemporary, ethnic symphonic, electronic, novelty, spiritual, march, soundtrack, folk, etc.

"Neda" is one of his 'tribute' songs. It's hauntingly beautiful.

There are 243 of his original compositions at  Laura's Midi Heaven. Here's the link: http://tinyurl.com/Daniel-Rowe You can, also, find, on this site, original music by Daniel Rowe and other composers by the style of music (see the panel on the left side of the screen).

Enjoy.

Christian,

Thanks for your introduction of yourself. We have several other members from
Germany.

The MIDI is quite good, however I am forced to removed it from the MIDKAR
archive because it does not meet our rules of post able MIDI's.

Your sequence does not include the sequencers name and there is a very good
possibility that it is a Commercially produced, Professionally sequenced file.

There are 2 good clues that tells me this.
1. It is very, very good quality.
2. It is sequenced in Type0 format which about 85% of commercial sequences
are.

A reminder to all.
Please double check your MIDI's before posting to the group to make sure they
are not Commercially produced and if not commercially produced they still must
at the minimum have the sequencers name.

If you are in doubt send your file to Bob S, Wild West or me and we will
check it for you.

Thanks very much!

Christian,
Don't feel too bad about this as just about all of us have accidentally posted
a file that does not meet the rules

Hi Jack,

sorry for not catching that. I have only looked for any copyright notes
embedded in the MIDI file and missed the fact that it is sequenced in
Type0 format. Since I believed the commercial MIDI business to be
essentially dead and that song was released only about a year ago, I
didn't start worrying when I couldn't find the sequencers name anywhere
in the internet.

I promise to have a closer look next time and, if in doubt, I'll send
the files to one of the members you mentioned.

Have a nice day,

Christian

Christian,

Like I said it has happened to all of now and then.
We try hard but now and then one slips through on us.

Attached is one of Akon's tunes I really like:
Don't Matter
Written & Recorded for his 2006 Album: Konvicted
W&M by A. Lawson & Aliaune "Akon" Thiam
Sequenced by Nkenge B. Ross in 2007
52kb, 4.48mpt, Mid/Kar

Jack
p.s. I have 6 other of Akon's tunes if you want them.
I can't post any of them to the group.

"Cueball" is an all-time favorite of mine . . . I never get tired of listening to it.

It's a very catchy tune -  it sets your feet to tapping.  It's in the novelty style.

Daniel Rowe eventually converted this MIDI to an mp3 file. I was going to attach it to this post when I realized that it was almost 1MB in size and, maybe, some of you would not be able to handle that large of a download.

For those of you who can handle downloading that size of a file and would like it just let me know and then I will post it to MIDKAR for you.

Enjoy.

Nice!!

seq Michael Stipe

"Losing My Religion" is a song by the American alternative rock band R.E.M. The song was released as the first single from the group's 1991 album Out of Time. Based around a mandolin riff, "Losing My Religion" was an unlikely hit for the group, garnering heavy airplay on radio as well as on MTV due to its critically-acclaime d music video. The song became R.E.M.'s highest-charting hit in the United States, reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and expanding the group's popularity beyond its original fanbase. It was nominated for several Grammy Awards, and won two for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Short Form Music Video.

REM: Losing My Religion

Oh, life is bigger
It's bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no, I've said too much
I set it up

(chorus)
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight, I'm
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no, I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper
Of every waking hour I'm
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool, fool
Oh no, I've said too much
I set it up
Consider this
Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream
That was just a dream

(repeat chorus)

But that was just a dream
Try, cry, why try?
That was just a dream
Just a dream, just a dream
Dream
