Youngstown Model Railroad Association 2004 Open House
The holidays and trains just seem to go together. Model trains of all
shapes and sizes can be seen at the Youngstown Model Railroad
Associations Fall Open House, the weekends of November 6st and 7nd,
and 13th and 14th. The Club is located at the corner of Raccoon Road
and Four Mile Run Road in Austintown. The hours are 12:00 p.m. until
6:00 p.m. all four days.
The Youngstown Model Railroad Association is one of the few clubs in
the country that has two complete displays, `O' scale and the
smaller `HO'. Both extensive layouts feature over 100 scale miles of
track each.
The `HO' layout is currently undergoing a major renovation. The
creation of a complete steel mill complex and its track work are in
the process of being built. Spectators can see exactly how a model
railroad is constructed.
The large `O' scale giants offer a special fascination for some they
bring back memories of the trains many of us had under our own
Christmas trees years ago.
Time seems to stand still as fast freight and colorful passenger
trains wind their way around the scenic railroads, often disappearing
into tunnels to reappear on the other side of the room.
Bring the whole family and join us for a few fun-filled hours. A
courtesy donation of $3.00 per person is requested. Children under 12
with an adult are free.
