... Just vastly superior control for vertical shooting, and having the option to use two batteries at once for longer shooting between battery changes. --

Thanks for info. I used vertical grips with Maxxum 5 and 7 so I could use rechargeable batteries. I think the Sonys and D7 use rechargeable batteries. So

My preference is with A700 even though it is not identical. I use Dynax 7 (Maxxum 7) for film and Sony A700 for Digital. I tried 7D but even though it is tough
