Hi Everyone
I've enjoyed reading all your bios.
My interest in the course is about how we'll be using cell phones and PDAs. Community connection is one thing, but once we have the community using it - how can we provide them with education
I've been involved in distance learning since 1986 and before that but we weren't calling it DL then. My doctorate is in distance learning. I used to produce the conference that is now called TechLearn. It was called TeleCon in the earlier years. I was on the earliest steering committee for UOP, and later the marketing chair for the MBA program. I teach for Capella now in the IDOL (Instructional Design for Online Learning) and Curriculum /Instructiondoctoral areas. Through a grant from the US Department of Justice, we created a number of courses for probation and parole officers. I run the service now and teach many of the courses (officer safety and management of the sex offender, domestic violence and other all time biggies in our society). We also produced and still manage the Ethics and Conflict of Interest for CaliforniaState University System. The training was for all 23 campuses. We created the LMS, wrote and produced the course and mange the network and support to guarantee the voracity of the database of completers to the state of California. For this, the Attorney General of California approved the script.
I'm looking forward to see what happens with the group. Thanks for setting it up Andy.
