Hello everyone, and especially to Leo for sending his first introduction.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Aldon Hynes. I started programming in
the late 60s, first got on the internet in the early 80's when I was
consulting at Bell Labs. Worked on Wall Street for years, and am now moving
over to do as much work for progressive political causes and not for profits
as possible.
I worked with CivicSpace back before it was called DeanSpace and before we
selected Drupal as our core. I host a lot of CivicSpace sites and a lot of
my focus is around making CivicSpace installations particularly cheap to set
up and easy to maintain. A key target audience for me is people running for
State Rep who might have simple websites, but could have much better ones.
After I got Andy's email, I created a CivicSpace site,
http://www.smartcampaigns.com/getlive where I could write down some of my
thoughts in a semi-orderly manner as well as test out things there. Any of
you that want to play with that site, let me know.
I'm eager to help with any other projects and Leo's sounds especially
interesting. I look forward to connecting with all of you and sharing
expertise all around.
Aldon
