Hi everybody,

as a beginner in the field of mobile web development I wonder how
testing on devices could best be done. I read through Luca Passani's
text (thanks!) and I still wonder

a) what are the most widespread and thus important devices (browsers?)
that should be used for testing? Does anyone have any figures?
@Luca: In your section "Testing Applications" you already suggest a
few. Do the mentioned devices always come with a certain browser, or
can/do users choose from several browser options - as we do on our
desktops?

b) once "you have 'em all" (does anyone?), do you upload your mobile
site to a webspace - while still developing - and then access it
through your device(s), through actual carriers (which can cost quite
a bit), or ist there a shortcut?

I ask this because we usually set up our local server and backend and
producea "regular" website (and test browsers/platforms extensively)
before we put anything online.

I am also just reading through Barbara Ballard's work (thanks for
that, too!)

Best
Michael
