Hi Marty,
[Sorry for the delay in responding. Between
work, holidays and home life, I’ve only just got around to giving my
Inbox a thorough examination!]
The 1.4.8 release of mpatrol is getting
rather old now so your problems building it from source are probably due to
incompatibilities with the source and build environment rather than anything
you’re doing wrong. I’m going to upload my latest sources for
mpatrol to SourceForge in the next few weeks so that people can port it to the
latest platforms and hopefully bring it more up to date.
Did you manage to find out if
ffmpeg2theora was doing dubious things with memory alignment, or was it mpatrol
that was at fault?
Thanks,
Graeme.

Subject: [mpatrol] mpatrol 1.4.8
core's on memalign looking at ffmpeg2theora
There are some leaks in ffmpeg2theora I'm looking at.
I've know about mpatrol for years -- never had to use it much...
I got a copy of the ubuntu 7.10 package install, found a way to build
libiberty.so (which I couldn't find -- so I built it from binutils 2.18).
I haven't built mpatrol from source yet (I had some problems -- it may
be operator error).
But ffmpeg does some "interesting" things with memory alignment --
and
obvious mpatrol doesn't like it...
The 1.4.8 release is 6 years old -- mpatrol looks very useful -- are
there any plans to "refresh it?"
