I think the digital version can do this since there is a trigger input.
However the analog version is not (easily) capable of this. However it
might be worth a try by modifying the circuit some to prevent one unit from
sending pulses, a listen only mode.

We have an applicaton that would involve two Ultrasonic Sensors. The
sensor's analog output is perfect for our needs. Here is what we need
to do:
Have Sensor 1 send a ping to Sensor 2. One of the two sensors would
report the time differnce between the two sensors. This process would
then be reversed with Sensor 2 pinging Sensor 1 and reporting the
difference. The result would be that one sensor would report the time
from 1 to 2 and the other would report the time from 2 to 1.
This would obiously involve having the MCU/PIC on each sensor
communicating with the other. The question is not so much whether
this is doable but how easily could it be done.
