Subject: [mtt-11-on-wafer] Re: Regarding the Findlen--Command to input Low frequency

Dear Dr. Dylan,

Thanks for your answers,

I have some few left

1. I could able to change in the program code so that i can change the
default Low-frequency value.

This also must be changed with the softkeys F1-F12.

2. Regarding the number of frequency points -- What i should input, is
it 78. I use VNA HP8510c 801 points, can i input that.

You can use whatever frequency grid you like.

3. Does the impedance of the line needed to be 50 ohm or it can be any
thing.

No, the impedance can be anything. The program indicates the suitability of the lengths, and this is independent of the impedance.

4. Can i use meandered line section for Line standard as the maximum
length of the line can be measured by our probe station is about 17
mm, so it is not so easy to reach low frequencies such as 0.1 GHz.

This is usually a bad idea, as it violates the assumption of a uniform line. I would suggest augmenting the TRL calibration with a resistor. Please read the following paper.

D. F. Williams and R. B. Marks, "LRM Probe-Tip Calibrations using Nonideal Standards," IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques, vol. 43, no. 2, pp. 466-469, Feb. 1995.

Thanks,

Best regards,
Vamsi
