Re: [mugwa] HELP - chasing a M16-1.0 Die to cut a thread in plastic

There appear to be three "usual" M16 thread pitches that I have come across. The are 2mm (course), 1.5mm (a common fine pitch and is used on metric gland threads), and 1mm which appears to be rare. If it is a 1mm pitch would it be possible to borrow it overnight or maybe over a weekend?

Thanks, Andrew

Subject: [mugwa] HELP - chasing a M16-1.0 Die to cut a thread in plastic

Hi All,

I have been banging my head against a wall trying to fine a M16 die with 1mm
pitch to cut a thread on some plastic. Can anyone suggest where I can buy
one from or, failing that, can anyone lend me one.

Regards,

Flat headed Andrew

Start at your local lathe and milling machines suppliers, if they can't get it they will know someone who might. I hope your trail is short. Another option...

Have you tried Coventry Fasteners? (Ex: sweetmans). The mob in Canningvale I find particularly helpful and quite well priced. If they haven't got it, they may...
