Hi folks,

Has any one had any experience with reviving faulty USB sticks? I have
one with some desirable data on it and have been asked to give it a go.

When plugged into a USB port a message "USB device not recognised" is
shown.

The device was on a key ring and stopped working after being dropped
heavily on a table top.

I removed the case and checked with a loupe for any bad joins or
cracked components or connections, I suspected the crystal may have
become faulty and after locating the Xtal pins on the MCU checked them
with my oscilloscope.

There was no waveform on them so I tend to think the xtal may be faulty
as in the past I usually find I can get a waveform on the xtal pins.

I'd like to solder another 12.00mhz xtal in place but my eyes arn't as
good as they used to be. If any one with surface mount skills and
equipment would like to help please let me know. There is renumeration
for a successful recovery of data.

Hi all,

I am chasing a MAX488 surface mount RS422 transceiver in Perth. I can get
one sent over from Farnell but I really need one tonight. Anyone know a
