Hi everyone, me again ...

Some of us are having a very nice session and learning from one another. If
we're not hearing from you then that's fine I hope you're learning from us and
from other EVO sessions.

Our weekly live events have been coming off nicely, spontaneously, informally,
and with lots of creative community spirit. They are archived here:
http://learning2gether.posterous.com/

We have used our Week 4 clustering behaviors to get in touch with one another
and our Week 3 networking skills to discover (from Nora :-) that there was an
online conference happening right at the time of our last week's chat.
Furthermore there was a presentation at noon GMT by two other EVO moderators,
fittingly in the PLN session, and Learning2gether got in on the recording (at
the end)

This last week, it's time to take the last step in coping with MOOCs, FOCUS. My
suggested tool for this is ePortfolios. Talking with Tuba in Elluminate last
night she said her thoughts and writings were posted in many places, and I
suggested something like scoop.it or netvibes, or a wiki, to gather some links
in one place and call that table of contents an e-portfolio which through
hypertext contains other artifacts from your portfolio.

Your "Me-Portfolio" could be about YOU or it could be about what you've learned
at EVO this go-round. EVO has over 2600 participants so it's a MOOC in scale if
not in detail (many sessions, not just one). Still EVO, MOOCs, and the
multiliteracies session have in common that they try to get us all looking at
education and learning in a different perspective than might have occurred to us
before we experienced learning in a connected community, where we self-select
what we want to learn.

Did it work for you? Right now I have to FOCUS as well, on a presentation I'm
giving in two days in Morocco. On Wednesday, 08 February, 2012, I am invited to
give a keynote speech entitled Learner-centred do-it-yourself Learning
Management Systems at the IATEFL Learning Technologies SIG http://ltsig.org.uk/
conference on Opportunities, challenges and practical solutions for the
integration of ICT in education in Marrakech, Morocco from 8-11 February 2012,
http://ltsig.org.uk/events/13-future-events/221-marrakesh-february-2012.html;
program at: http://ltsig.org.uk/media/Marrakech2012_Programme.pdf. There's a
writeup here: http://fcwr101.pbworks.com/DIYLMS

I'll be back in Abu Dhabi for our last weekly
http://learning2gether.pbworks.com/ live event. It would be great if some of
you could come online and talk us through your Me-Portfolios. This might be as
part of a larger EVO plenary wrapup event, but more on that later.

Meanwhile if you get a chance can you please use this link to evaluate this
session: Multiliteracies - http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NWQTXS6

I'll remind you again later,
Vance
