I tend to agree that there is room within the present mod policy,
and, really, it should be a matter of using this Yahoo forum to
express your concern that they clamped down inappropriately, and
make your case. Eventually a balance can be found that will not
result in merely creating another playground for disgruntled former
MWers, and do for MWM what its original intent was: create a
strictly *writing focused* newsgroup for those who do not wish to
wade through things that some writers find of interest, but others
do not.
I further propose that participants in MWM do a little self-
moderation: if you think a thread might be questioned, then provide
the backup in your response. Barbara, your explanation above could
have been put into your response to that thread. (Apologies if you
put this sort of discussion explanation into your post and I did not
see it).
