After a couple of successful events in Edinburgh, we are pleased to
announce the first MX TechTalk in Glasgow.
This meeting will take place in the Old Print Works, 36 North Frederick
Street, Glasgow starting at 7pm on Wednesday 22nd March.
* Adrian Williamson from Graham Technology will be talking about "GT-X7
Mobile Sales Force Automation on GPRS with PDAs" - 150 agents walking
the streets of Eire (well Dublin really) trying to sell telco
services door to door.
* Michael Wilson, Senior Symbian Applications Developer at Sysnet, will
be talking about "Software development for Symbian based devices".
This talk will first discuss technical reasons for using Symbian and
what advantages it offers over mobile Java. This should help a developer
decide whether they should use Symbian or Java to develop their application.
The presentation will then briefly look at the different versions of
Symbian available: Nokia Series 60 (version 1, 2 and 3), Nokia Series 80
and UIQ.
The talk will then conclude with describing the tools required to
develop a Symbian application for a specific version of Symbian.
Pit-falls and pointers for Symbian development will be included in this
part. Hopefully by the end of the presentation, someone will have enough
to start developing their own Symbian application.
There will be access to a bar and sandwiches will be provided for those
who haven't managed to grab a bite after work.
We look forward to seeing as many people as possible there so please
pass this information on to anybody who might be interested within your
organisation and also your other industry contacts.
