New Invasive Plant Management Tool Available for Natural Land Managers and Educators

The "Invasive Exotic Plant (IEP) Management Tutorial for Natural Lands Managers: A Comprehensive Tool for Addressing Your IEP Needs" is now available on-line at http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/invasivetutorial/index.htm

The Invasive Exotic Plant (IEP) Management Tutorial for Natural Lands Managers was developed with support from the DCNR-Wild Resource Conservation Fund and the Mid-Atlantic Exotic Pest Plant Council.

The tutorial is designed as a "one-stop-shop" for users and includes information available on the world-wide web and other forms of media. The information has been organized in a standard format for easy access. Users are provided with sufficient background information on the specific IEP problem that they face along with guidance in the form of a standard management approach so that they can more effectively apply the information to their specific problem.

To access the Tutorial visit the DCNR – Bureau of Forestry website at http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry and you can find it under "Latest News and Events" or "Education and Information". The direct link is http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/invasivetutorial/index.htm.

The MA-EPPC also has a link on their website at www.ma-eppc.org

Given the ever-changing science of IEP management, new and updated information is being made available every day both on management and control, as well as information about individual plant species. Recognizing this, we hope to update and improve the tutorial’s utility based on feedback provided by users. A mechanism for providing feedback is included in the opening page of the tutorial website.

Hope you find this useful,
