Ideal Comics is proud to announce the 2009 High Plains Mini-Con, taking place this August/September in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. The official dates have not been set into stone, as of yet, but keep watching this space for information on how you can attend.
Comic conventions are pretty scarce in our neck of the woods, and we're reasonably sure that's not due to a lack of interest. What we want to do is provide a place for creators from the area to get together with comic book fans and other creators.
The High-Plains Mini-Con is a free event, both to attend and to exhibit. All we ask is that if you're planning to attend, you tell other people about it. This is the first year we're putting this on and we want to pack the house. We want to make this an annual event that everyone in the area will look forward to.
So, to recap...
What: High Plains Mini-Con Where: Gametime Cards and Collectibles - Beautiful Scottsbluff, Nebraska When: August/September How Much: Free (To Exhibit and to Attend) That Sounds AWESOME!! How Can I Attend?!? Registrations will open shortly. Keep an eye on this space for details.

Clay,
Actually no. I found out about this situation through the
Evolution/Creation Forum of the Internet Infidels Discussion Board. I
live in Houston, Texas. I thought about filing a complaint with the
Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, but
decided your group would probably be the most suitable to handle this
since it's on your turf.
Best wishes,

Friends, I joined your group in order to communicate with you about McCook Community College in your fair state. According to this article a Mr. Jim Garretson, who is on the science faculty at MCC, is planning on teaching a class in "Creation Science" under the aegis of the Physics Department.
According to the article, Garretson has said:
The class we will explore many topics relating to many different areas of science including:
The age of the earth, the earth's beginning, and where the earth is heading
The Garden of Eden and life on earth before the flood and the major changes which have taken place since that time
Dinosaurs in the past as well as in the present
The flood, ice ages, mountain formation, coal and oil formation, and the Grand
Canyon
History of evolution through the ages and the effect it has had on the world as well as many very influential people
What is taught in school textbooks, without factual supportive evidence?
In my opinion, teaching this religion class under the cover of a Physics course number (PHYS 2990) constitutes consumer fraud by a public employee. I do not think the administration at MCC understands that this course could cost them their accreditation.
I hope you will take what action you can to prevent this travesty from occurring.

I am Mrs greeg wwhalinee Burns from Liberia, my late husband Mr Burns Sani was killed during the war in Liberia some years ago.
This sad event happened in a cool evening when we were relaxing in our house in Hebel town in Liberia, the rebels entered my husband house and went straight to his room shot him as he was trying to escape through the back
gate of the house.
Meanwhile, Before the rebels turn to me and my two daughter with the intention to rape us my daughters shouted and as fate would have it we were rescued by government forces who shot and killed the rebels.
My husband was rushed to the government hospital for treatment, it was there he now disclose to me that because he was the head of the Finance Department of FierStone Rubber Plantation at this hour he decide to tell me where he deposited the sum ten million, six hundred thousand united states dollars($10,600.000.00) in Ecowas Diplomatic Security Company.

After Thursday's meeting at Sandy's we were talking about the dangers
of Grand Canyon. This story was too relevant to ignore.

Nice selection, Les. She wrote an interesting book
about risk perception some years ago, I think. Did you
read that?
Cheers,
