SolidWorks Software Wins Prestigious Awards From Two Leading Industry Publications in One Month
CONCORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 2002--CADALYST Magazine has named SolidWorks® 2001Plus three-dimensional computer-aided design (3D CAD) software Best of Show at the National Design Engineering Show (NDES) in Chicago this week, SolidWorks announced today. The magazine's editors chose SolidWorks 2001Plus for its large assembly (10,000 parts or more) tools, a host of user-requested features, and its complete modeling capabilities. This is the second industry award SolidWorks software has won in less than a month. SolidWorks 2001 won Design News Magazine's Best Product of the Year on March 11.
SolidWorks 2001Plus is the company's flagship product that has set the industry standard for mainstream 3D CAD technology. It gives designers and engineers all of the tools they need to slash design time, reduce design costs, and minimize production errors.
In addition to its recognition of SolidWorks 2001Plus, CADALYST's editors also highlighted SolidWorks' Solution Partner Program because it ``encourages third-party developers to supplement its core strengths with add-on applications. SolidWorks' industry-leading program includes more than 160 solution partners that offer extensions to the core modeler.'' Nearly a quarter of those partner solutions operate natively inside SolidWorks software, meaning that users can complete product designs quickly because they don't have to switch from one application to another.
``To be chosen as Best of Show at NDES is a significant achievement,'' said John McEleney, CEO of SolidWorks. ``We've designed SolidWorks 2001Plus with the user in mind, mapping much of the innovations toward users' feedback. Our goal is to make engineers' jobs easier by giving them the capabilities they request. SolidWorks 2001Plus is the latest in a series of product innovations that have set SolidWorks apart from competitors' products. This award demonstrates that we're setting the pace in the industry.''
