The purpose of this group is to discover the abstractions for video on the net. This may expand to include time based media with audio. And can often focus on the subsets of videoblogging, video podcasting, and other developing net video standards and approaches.

The formulating methods encouraged is reasoned, emperical discourse. Diverse theories are invited to compete. The theories will be guided by evidence that can be accurately applied to prove or disprove the proposals. Challenges should be invited to either stengthen a hypothesis by disproving the challenge or abandoning it for a more accurate alternative. This is about accurate abstrations, not pet ideas to personalize and defend.

The visual, time based media dealt with is mostly on an open network. In that spirit, membership to this group is open and public. If participants become too distracting and off topic, this group will move to a moderated membership.
