I just joined this group and thought I would tell you folks a bit
about myself.
I am a golf teaching professional and an avid photographer. I was
started in photog. by an uncle who was a professional photographer
in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Uncle Steve had studied at the San
Francisco Art Institute partly under
Ansel Adams. He was the one who taught me darkroom procedure and
photo
composition. I have taken photos ever since. (I was twelve at the
time and on vacation at his and his wife and childrens home)
In 1969 I was on liberty in Sasebo, Japan when I decided to by a
camera. After a bit of research I settled on a Nikon Photomic ftn. I
also purchased a 105mm f 3.5 tele and a 300mm f4 tele. The camera
came with a 50mm f 1.4 normal lens. I still have and use the camera
and lenses.
Recently I purchased a Mamiya m645 and a couple of lenses...but,
that's for another discussion group.
I have to say that I love the Nikon and would not part with it for
the world.
I have taken thousands of photos all over the world with this old
camera friend and was happy to find this group to share photos and
friendship with like-minded photographers.
Glad to be here and look forward to meeting all of you!
