How
Do You Like Your Email?
During
this meeting we are going to take a look at the various ways in which
people use email. If you are a member of NJCC it is almost certain
that you use at least one form of email. Some of you access your
email in several different ways. We will look at the most common
methods of email access and their problems. Then we will sample some
of the alternatives within those methods of access.
Internet
Service Provider (ISP)
Just about
everyone uses an ISP to connect to the Internet. We pay for monthly
or annual service and are given a number of services such as email
mailboxes and even web page space. With an email address and mailbox
we have a mechanism to send and receive email. IMAP
POP3
and SMPT.
