Very nice! Thanks for sharing.

I might try it on my Mac under VMWare just for fun!

Hi team:

I did some more looking and saw that it is possible to install Filemaker on Linux using the compatibility layer Wine.  I've gotten both FM 9 and 10 working well this way, also put in MS Office at the same time.

Using Ubuntu, Wine installs with a click or two.  Very pleased with the results.  Versions:  Ubuntu 9.10 (current), Wine

Hi team:

Moving ahead I don't see any reason to have Windows due to the usual stability & security factors.  The only legacy app that I have to have is, of course, Filemaker.

I'm aware that FM once had a server version that ran on Linux, but it was a short run for that product and I haven't heard anything since.

Would anyone know if there will eventually be a version that that will run natively on Linux?  I have the usual workarounds, a dual boot machine and a Mac with Parallels, but it would be so much simpler to buy and run it in Linux.

Thanks - Dave
