Mark-
I use the Zoom H4. It has built-in stereo mics which I use for
recording performances, but it also has 2 hybrid mic jacks (1/4 inch
or XLR) for input. I use an Audio-Technica headset mic or an MCA SP1
condenser mic. It has onboard phantom power (24 or 48v) and uses 2 AA
batteries (4 hours/ 2 hours with phantom power running) or the
included AC adaptor.
It also has a clip for mounting on a camera tripod, a windscreen, and
records to up to 2GB SD cards. I get about 3 hours of .wav and 2 days
of .mp3, I think. (NO podcaster records to mp3, right?)
