odd nmrDraw issue with scale and colors   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1967 of 2007 |

Howdy Frank et al,

I updated our installation of NMRPipe to the June 2009 release last week,
and I'm seeing an odd issue on some of our machines.

Using the default nmrDraw script, the interface window will pop up and none
of the interface elements will be clickable/adjustable. None of the menus,
buttons, sliders, etc, work.

Here's the default command line:

nmrdraw.exe \
-default scrollbar.repeatDelay 999 -position 0 0 -Wfsdb \
-fg black -bg gray30 -scale small \
$argv \
-xAdj 3 -yAdj 30 \
-frp 1 -peak -nozfht -text $NMRTXT -func proc.tab -nosvri -XOR always \
-lw1d 1 -labMode overlay -file "*.fid *.ft* *.lp *.dat *.DAT" \
-useTitle -nogrid -read -draw -zero -cursor -vert -clear $INARG

If I remove either of the '-fg black -bg gray30' or the '-scale small'
arguments from the command line, the interface works normally.

Does this ring any bells for any one? I have seen TCL errors when the X
server had a wrong RGBPath, but that's not the culprit here. The machines
that seem to be having the problems are Red Hat 5 64-bit workstations. I
have a handful of Fedora machines, both 32 and 64 bit, that seem to work
fine. All the machines have Nvidia graphics cards and are using the
proprietary driver. There must be some difference in the X configuration,
but I can't figure out what it is.

Any ideas?

-ben

Hi Ben, As you note, the particular version and configuration of X11 is an obvious potential source of differences in behavior from one system to the next. In...
