What is Cal-Game?
Cal-Games (now known as the Northern California Robot Games) is
an off-season FIRST Robotics Competition event. These are the 100+
pound and 4+ foot tall (and larger) robots that compete on a
basketball-sized game field with 6 robots competing at a time. They
will be doing a "re-play" of last season's FRC game, Rack 'N' Roll.
When is Cal-Games?
The event is Saturday, October 13th from 9 to about 5.
Who runs Cal-Games?
The nonprofit, WRRF. [www.wrrf.org]
Where is Cal-Games?
This year, Cal-Games is at Woodside High School in Woodside,
CA. This is just ~ 3 miles south of I-101 at exit 408 in Redwood
City.
The event is a great opportunity to learn more about FIRST Robotics
as well as bring your team to do some low key scrimmages. We have
been given space to invite FTC (and FLL) teams to participate from
~10am to ~3pm.
We will have some pit space in a classroom as well as a competition
table setup.
To Participate:
If you are interested in participating, please RSVP to
scrimmage@... . We will need about 4 volunteers
to help out as well.
Participating means either 1) volunteering to help us for a few
hours and/or 2) the team bringing their robot kit to work on and
possibly run a few low-key matches against other teams.
