First look through a nice telescope can be a
wonderful experience.
Did you notice all the stars around the moon last
night as the crescent moon was occulting the Pleides?
It was fun to sit and watch the moon draw steadily
closer to the stars and then to see how quickly the
stars winked out behind it.
This was one of the early proofs that the moon had no
atmosphere.
Saturn is about 9AU distant at almost 2nd magnitude.
