Hi,
The bright comet 17P/Holmes in Perseus has brightened several
maginitudes over night and the last observed magnitude for this comet
was ml 2.8 which would make it the brightest comet seen in the northern
skies since comet McNaught (the only daylight comet this observer has
ever observed) speared our daylight skies with its brilliance in
January.
This comet will be passing near Mirphak (alpha Perseus) over the next
several nights and should make a pretty sight both in binoculars and
naked eye.
