Hi Eric,

Re: Clipbook Librarian v1.01

Finally got a chance to run it. I didn't think I would
keep it, because I pretty much have an easy system that
works for me. So, going into it with a negative and then
deciding that it is a keeper says quite a bit for your
Librarian doesn't it q8?D

Thanks - keep up the good work!

Oh, I turned the hint info off and it took about 2 seconds
to load near 20 Libraries. With it on it was taking about
20 seconds on my 486.

Someone on this list once identified himself as a blind user
(when talking about blind-user mode in NTP?), and I'd like to ask
him some questions about audio books.
Anyone remember who it is?

Thanks,

Try checking the regular expression box and add the period after
the asterick. I don't know enough about regular expressions o
know how correct that is or if it will cause problems.

Hi All,

Here's another Library for you:

NoteBack Plus...
An OnClipBoardChange eMail Formatting Tool
Plus: PasteBack, Auto-Replace, eMail, mailTo, NoteMail

http://www.sureword.com/notetab/library.htm#noteback
83KB Clipbook Library, 35KB zipped
http://www.sureword.com/notetab/zip/noteback.zip

-Turn On
-Turn Off
Turns on/off the NoteTab Pasteback feature.
Formats eMail from another application: your reply, one >
and two >> arrows, and ;comments. Does a paragraph at a
time or complete post into a nicely reformatted readable
post without all the long/short lines and arrows inside
the paragraphs. Cleans those out as well if they are
there. Hardly an fuss to use. May launch other
applications as well - currently setup for WordWeb and
     NoteTab Standard.

-AutoReplace On/Off
Toggles Auto-Replace on and off. Can be used as an Auto-
Replace Library as well. Some minor conflict if you use
this while the Pasteback feature is turned on.

-Typewriter...
You may set left and right margins and NoteTab will
automatically format your document to that while you type.

-eMail...
Uses MAPI, has a large amount of Options. Options for
     Addressbooks

-mailTo...
Sends focused document (or selection). Does To:, Subject,
and Cc: fields. (mailto: is limited in the amount of To:,
Cc:, and Bcc recipients that can be used.

-Clips Express
Ships via MAPI to the Clips List - one clicker.
Gets Subject and body from document.

-Basic Express
Ships via MAPI to Basic List - one clicker.
Gets Subject and body from document.

-NoteMail...
Clip that does To:, Cc:, Bcc:, and attachments without
the use of MAPI or mailto like the others. Tested in
Eudora Pro/Light, Pegasus Mail, and FoxMail. Some
programs like PM require some basic editing to the clip
    for sending attachments.

-File in Body & Attach...
Option to use Addressbook, sends file in body and/or
    attached.

-Send Outline
Various methods for sending OutLines via mail directly from
an open Outline. Ships via MAPI a whole Outline or topic
in various ways such as in body of message or attached.
(Will zip as .txt or .otl if you have Winzip.)

- Setup for mail program and Addressbooks

- Sound
    ..\Sounds\gotcha.wav
    ..\Sounds\hell.wav
    ..\Sounds\MsgBell.wav
    ..\Sounds\MsgType.wav

- Lots of help included

Thanks much to Dennis Cummins, RS, Carl Swann, Larry Thomas,
and some others for the help testing and/or feedback with some
or all of my Libraries/Clips in the past, present, and
hopefully the future.

Enjoy and...

Here, both in NTP and NTL, I get an "Open Link in Browser" box with the
clicked word selected on it. Clicking the combo, there's a list of URLs
which might be from one of my browsers.

I don't know what you mean by "click-and-hold", but holding either the Ctrl
or the Shift keys doesn't change the result.

I'd certainly like to be able to select words or phrases by double
clicking. Would there be an option hidden somewhere? Other users might have
an answer, let's wait and see.

I can only suspect the reason for that is the input control
differences used in NoteTab Pro and Standard/Light if it is not
an oversight. It works as you say in Std/Light and also Pro.

You need to uncheck "Open Quick Links" under Tools for it to work.
You will still be able to link to eMail addresses and urls, but
will have to learn to hold the Ctrl key down when you do it.

I have no idea where "Open Quick Links" is, but you can find "Quick

hello. please pardon me if this question has been asked recently.
i often use Notetab Pro to edit C++ source. i have the auto-indent
turned on, so as i indent code the cursor follows my indention.
all of that appears to work great, but i've noticed that when my
indention is deep (10 or more real spaces), it appears to embed
tabs instead of spaces to fill in the full length of the indent.

when i look at my source with the integrated editor of my compiler
(visual c++), the indentation is incorrect.

is there a way to force Notetab to only use spaces? can i somehow
tell it to (even if i physically press the tab key), to substitute
spaces for the intended indention? thanks, in advance, donr

Select View | Options from the main menu. Select the Documents tab and in
the middle of the dialog box select "Type Tab". Drop down the menu from
that and select either Fixed or Smart Tabs. Make sure that "Auto Indent" is
also checked while you are in this dialog. Now select the Tools Tab on the
Options box and look on the upper right side for the check box, "Indent
with Tabs". If that box is checked, uncheck it. Click ok at the bottom of
the options dialog box and that should take care of the problem.

Hi everyone - I'm new to your list.

I must have done something to my settings. The last couple of days each
time I download a 'source' document, a new NoteTab Pro entity (and icon in
tray) opens up instead of just the document itself opening up a new tab in
the present setup. Each source downloaded results in a new NoteTab Pro
being produced. (ie If I download 5 sources, I end up with 6 icons in the
tray system - 5 of them with 1 'source' document each and the original open
NoteTab with all of its existing open documents).

I hope my question makes sense! I've read through my preferences again and
didn't notice anything that could cause this effect.

Thanks for any advice!

Close all copies of NoteTab but one. Go to the main menu and select View
and uncheck the item about midway down labelled "Multiple Instances".
Close NoteTab. When you restart NoteTab it should not allow any other
copies of itself to be loaded but just add your new downloads to the open
documents.

Hi Donr,

You should be aware that NoteTab has an option to view non-printing
characters which will make it easier to see what your settings are doing.
You can get this option from the View menu "Nonprinting Text" or you can
toggle this feature with Shift+F12. It allows you to see spaces, real
tabs, and <cr/lf> characters which are normally not visible in the document.

Just like a click, but without releasing the button. Click-hold = standard
text selection, double and triple click usually work as described above.

I guess I'll have to buy NTStandard also and switch back and forth...

Hi all,

It's been several weeks since I've worked on the NoteTab site and libraries
for the repository have been piling up in my mailbox -- sorry about that.
Anyway, the good news is that the Clipbook repository is now again
up-to-date. You can see what kind of neat libraries people have been
submitting over the past month by visiting:

Hope you find some of the new resources useful.

Is this relevant, Forrest?? In NTP, use the mouse to click the
start-point of the block of text you wish to highlight; then, while
holding down Control+Shift, use the mouse to click on the end-point of
your desired text block. That latter click will highlight the entire
block for you.

Get the trial version of NoteTab Std & see if it works.
Because of the input control, the Std version can use more
fonts than the Pro version but doesn't have the highlighting
options that Pro has. Many of us use both versions because
of the slight variations in the way they work :)

NoteTab sees a paragraph as a single display line. That
means you can get different results depending on whether
word wrap is on or off. If you double click in the blank
area in front of a screen line, the whole line is
highlighted. If you double click inside the line, you get
word highlighting.

Hi all,

Here's some good news...

NoteTab Pro is a nominee in the 1999 Shareware Industry Awards:
    http://www.sic.org/awards.html
under "Best Web Enhancement or Utility"

Unfortunately, neither version of NoteTab made it for the PC Magazine
Shareware Awards this year, but you do have an opportunity to cast your
vote for the People's Choice Award:

    http://www.zdnet.com/swlib/zdawards/pchoice99.html

A link to this page is also available from the NoteTab web sites. With your
support, NoteTab Pro can certainly win this award again :-)

Thanks!

Eric Fookes

It's as relevant as anything else. I certainly know how how to use alternate
selection methods, but word- and sentence/line-level granularity control (you
should pardon the expression) is pretty standard* and is very handy. It was
a similar issue involving a certain pro-level word processor that caused me
to investigate NT in the first place...

(* on some platforms it's completely standard, but Microsoft is Microsoft...)

Now if only I could get it to highlight more than one word at a time...!
