I just found out that Stewart Dewar, creator of DateBk (all versions)
is putting together a new calendar app, Pimlical (from Pimlico
Software, get it?) that will work with the Palm Desktop database on
your Windows machine, including in Vista. But there's more, he's also
working on making Pimlical available to those without the Palm Desktop
and on more than just Windows, like Mac and Linux. Sounding better?
Here's the direct quotation from the site:
" Although initially released as a Windows version, Mac and Linux
versions of the desktop will be rolled out during the course of 2009
as will versions for most handhelds & smartphones (including Windows
Mobile, BlackBerry, Android, possibly iPhone (if Apple changes some of
its policies) etc.).
"The initial release of Pimlical can also be used as a completely
standalone application without the Palm Desktop - so it can be used by
all windows users. Pimlico also plans to release translators for other
calendar databases (such as iCalendar) so that support of google
calendar and other calendar apps will be possible in the fairly near
future."
Considering the work he's done in the past, this sounds pretty good to
me. What do you folks think?
