Interesting comparison article on current iPhone firmware vs coming
3.0 vs current and upcoming Android firmware.

Android is fairly interesting, but not really fully there yet, if you
know what I mean. And Apple keeps having this one persistent advantage
over ALL other smartphone platforms: continual firmware updates.
How often did we get updates to PalmOS? Only when there was a
significant problem that required Palm to come up with something. And
in WinMo: pretty much never, unless the carrier wants to push
something out, nevermind what Microsoft may have come up with, which
isn't actually much anyway. Android: out for 6 months and no updates
yet. Not clear if the carriers will have a veto over updates.
Blackberry: actually, RIM is coming up with updates on a fairly
regular basis. Maybe not as good on that score as Apple, but still
they appear to be better than everyone else. However, again the
carriers can prevent updates going to their subscribers. This is one
area where Apple completely dominates the competition.
