Hello My Dearest Fellow WF Members,
Congratulations! The seminar on "IP Telephony, 3G and WiMAX: The Key
Technologies for Next Generation Telecommunication Infrastructure" on 1st
February was a big test for us and I'm proud to say that we all did a great job.
Our faculties and guests were really pleased with our arrangements. Though some
last minute troubles did occur, we managed to tackle them swiftly. This
achievement was successful only by the hard work of our volunteers who
maintained the program patiently and efficiently. For that I thank you all and
hope to see equal enthusiasm in our future big events. Together we can do
anything. WF ROCKZ! so let's rock everyone else WFers... ;)
Thank you.

01. Grameen Phone & Microsoft's initiative: Last week two high officers of Grameen Phone and Microsoft visited my office. They are looking for solutions developers to create opportunities on mobile platform. You might know that many third parties are providing solutions by using mobile platform, such as content provider, right-tone provide, education information, health information, agriculture information etc. At present the interface was closed and now Grameen is opening up their telco interfaces and test facilities to local community in order to encourage innovation and technology entrepreneurship. Ten (10) NSU students (present or graduated) will be selected to join this project. Beside it they are inviting Brac and AIUB students as well. Knowledge level prerequisites are as below
Programming knowledge in C# / Java/ PHP
XML, SOAP and Web Services
Familiarity with SMS and MMS
With the ten selected students I will visit Grameen office on 29 December and will discuss more details about the initiative and how young people like you can create opportunities by it.
02. Web developer: One of my friend recently moved from German to Bangladesh and started an IT firm. He is looking for a web solution developer on PHP and MySQL. The initial work will be to make a clone websolution of http://lawyers.com/ . Entry level engineers are also welcomed. This is a full time job and office is located at Gulshan 2. The office time will be flexible and on going students can take this opportunity as part-time base.
03. Web developer: Recently I and Mir Masud (CEO of Mango Telecom) is developing some collaboration in education areas of Bangladesh. We are developing a model to provide user friendly and rich education to the rural people by using wiki and social networking type thing, where user will generate the contents. Beside it we are considering to run couple of IT projects by using open source web solutions in the areas of accounting, customer relation management system, network management system and network analyzer etc areas. You should have (1) love to take challenge, (2) interest in opensource solutions and (3) basic knowledge of PHP and MySQL. Assalamu Alaikum all my dearest fellow WF members,
It's been quite a little time since there's been any activity in this group. But
it'd be wrong to assume this is an exact illustration of WF itself. NSU Wireless
Forum has been one of the most active clubs of NSU- presenting inter-university
events such as the Telempiad, Gaming contest and Seminars related to significant
technological fields. Although we've been a little restful in the previous
semester, this time we've some major events to organize. We have our plans to
hold the glorious Telempiad + Gaming contest very soon with even more and not at
all any less order and organization. Therefore, it's time to wake up! We need
all our experienced responsible members to deal with different aspects of the
event. All important announcements and dates of meetings will be posted in the
group as well as I ask you to inform your friends too in case they miss the
mail. The future of our beloved club calls for our dedication to it in the
present. I hereby ask all members- old, new and those who we've missed for some
time for various reasons, to let us hear their voices that we are united and we
can do it. We are looking forward to see and work with you all in our coming
events with the fellowship we had committed while joining the club.
Thank you and take care.

Today we had a great evening at the WF DAY celebration. Once again the WFers proved the unity of our club. Thanks to all our members who worked really hard to organize this great event within 3 DAYS. Without your endless effort, it could have been impossible to make this plan come true. Though it became a little bit difficult to gather sufficient crowd for the concert at the beginning, at the end it turned into a GREAT concert when ECLIPSE and POWERSURGE rocked the floor. We had a great response at the end and it's all because of those people who worked there all day long. Thank you all for being UNITED once again and making the WF DAY a great success. Thanks to all our seniors who managed to get some time from their busy schedule for being with us and celebrating the day as we have always celebrated. Your support was very much needed and we got it completely. We also missed those of our senior brothers and sisters who were with us at the last WF
day but could not make it this time.
Inshallah we will have a bigger WF Day next year in our campus and even a greater band lineup. If you guys show this much UNITY like you did today, we are gonna ROCK with all our upcoming events and we are gonna show the world what we can do. Wish you all best of luck for the finals.
