Hi All:

	 I'm working on a triple-head system (3 monitors) and I'm having a problem
with NoteTab. Typically, I set NoteTab on the middle of the three monitors.
When I start NoteTab it always starts on the left monitor when I want it to
start on the middle one. I always have to move it over. Since startup for
me is a procedure of starting 6+ programs, this additional step adds to
startup time. Is Is there a solution to this?

	 Thanks for the help.

Could you quit NoteTab from your middle monitor and send me a copy of the
resulting .ini file at <bugs@...>? Hopefully I can find a clue as to
why this is happening. Thanks.

Hi Ron,

While Eric is looking into your INI file, you might try the
following and also make sure you have a fairly recent version of
NoteTab. This is for a single monitor, but I think if you play
with it, you might get it to work like you want.

1. Resize and adjust the program window where you want it.
2. Click on the program icon located on Titlebar (upper left).
3. Uncheck "Open Centered" if checked.
4. Click on the program icon again.
5. Click on "Save Window State" (which does not get a check mark).
6. Restart NoteTab at this time.

Tip: You can right click on the Titlebar for the same menu as above
or press the Alt key and then the spacebar while holding Alt down
(Alt+Spacebar). Simply pressing Alt alone will collapse the menu
once opened or clicking in a "non-clickable" area of your screen.

Hi Lotta, Ron and all the others who helped.

I guess the 2 frameset pages was too obvious for me but once explained it
seems so obvious (and it will do just what I want). I wanted to avoid the
use of javascript if I could since I know some people who will use the site
keep it turned off for security reasons.

Thanks,
Al

Hi all,
I have a site called http://www.sitenavigation.net is a collection of
all the links that offers Site Navigational javascript menus dhtml
menus and java menu applets in one place and is becoming an emerging
specialised complete resource for webmasters to website navigation
tools (only). Now webmasters who desperately want some new
navigational javascript menu, DHTML menu Script or java menu applet
does not have to roam over the internet to search for it.
SiteNavigation.net also has S N Guide (site navigation guide) which
has links to sites that offers tips, information and articles on all
the Site Navigation Issues.

Hi Jody,

I don't have a problem with people posting/suggesting their web sites
as long as they are on-topic for the group. We can get too broad in our
definitions of SPAM. You used good judgement here, IMO :-)

By the way, this site had the menu script I'd been looking for - and
the scripts are free.

Thanks!

I've said quite a few dozen times over the years that almost all
my posts have an unsubscribe "link" and that it is in the header
of the post. I need to check yahoo to see if it can be added. I
think I may start putting an unsubscribe message at the beginning
of some of my posts (like Dr. Harder mentioned to me ions ago).

Hi Eric:

Recently, we discussed this problem on the newgroup. I have an
update to the problem.

When I followed your instructions and sent you the *.ini file,
somehow it caused the program to move over to monitor #3 where I wanted it.
However, now, when I have multiple files open for editing, I cannot reorder
the tabs. I have a specific order that I organize the editor in to work on
the files and relate them to specific images. This is not possible at the
moment.

Next, is it possible to put together a quick perl script that will
remove, modify and replace _one_ line? I do a lot of little editing bits at
a time and it is handy to have a keyboard macro/script that will do this.
Since I'm learning perl and working with it periodically, it would be handy
to have this capability.

          Thanks for all your help.

          Talk to you soon.

Related to Ron's question (maybe this should be on ntb-clips?)
Is there some way to create an in-line Perl-clip where all the code required
(whether clip-code or Perl-code) is contained in just ONE clip. Every
example I've seen (specifically the ones in Sample Clips - Scripts) requires
an exterior control module. As I learn a little more Perl (and/or Gawk) it
would be handy to have a single "shell" that I can call up to go into and
"quickly" put in one-timers.

If there is necessary control code at the top and the bottom, that would be
preferable (at least for the way I tend to work) to having the controlling
elements in an external clip so that I have to tweak in one and execute a
different one to test.

On rereading what Ron said, I'm not sure whether this is EXACTLY what he's
after or not - I think it may be???

First you select one line in NoteTab, and then only the selected text
goes to your Perl script's STDIN or <>

Usually the while loop goes through the document line by line (line
being a string that ends with CRLF), unless you change the $/ variable,
e.g.:

while (<>) {
# your code here
}

If having Clip and Perl code in one 'clip' is what you're after, I don't
think it's possible.

Piotr

Are you saying the ones I sent about getting everything
positioned and sized where you wanted it. Next, click on the
program icon on the Titlebar, then Save Window State, and then
unchecked open centered.

Right click over any tab and choose Stack tabs and then Allow
reordering.

I do not knew if you wanted a three in one clips that may benefit
you. I don't Perl, but here is a regular Clip:

^!Find "Your data" S
^!IfError End
^!Deleteline

or

^!Find "Your data" S
^!Set %Data%=^?{Edit line=^$Selection$}

Try this:

Go to View-->Options

Now go to the "Document" tab

Hit the "Font" button and choose which one you like best.

Hit OK to save changes and the documents should all change right away.

What browser(s) are you using?

What version of Windows are you using?

Where are you clicking "open in browser" at and/or what method

Do you have Quick Open Links checked under the Tools menu?

Do you have your HTML files defaulted correctly with the browser

Do you have it configured in Options under the Internet tab,
Main Browser?

Can you point me to where you read that it was a fixed bug,

I do not know what is causing that, but please provide the
following information. I will copy the NoteTab NextRelease list
your reply which you can do in private eMail if you wish, or post
your reply to: mailto:ntb-NextRelease@yahoogroups.com The
following questions do not necessarily apply to the problem you
are seeing, but I'd like to give Eric as much information as
possible. (I have never seen it myself in Win98SE, WinXP Pro, or
WinME.)

What browser(s) are you using?

What version of Windows are you using?

Where are you clicking "open in browser" at and/or what method
are you using to open the link exactly?

Do you have Quick Open Links checked under the Tools menu?

Do you have your HTML files defaulted correctly with the browser
and is the file type(s) associated with NoteTab in Options under
Associations?

Do you have it configured in Options under the Internet tab,
Main Browser?

Can you point me to where you read that it was a fixed bug,
please; give me some text to search in WhatsNew.txt or wherever
you read it?

  > ...Its not THAT annoying, but the docs said it was a fixed bug.

Thanks much!

Happy HTML'n!

Hi Dart,

>Hold ctrl while you click

Maybe I am missing something, but we do not have a "open in
browser" tool to use on the Shortcut menu. I know how to open a
link with and without the Ctrl key, but I'm trying to find out
from Ricardo exactly what he is doing to create the glitch with
the space (%20) after the http:// and then the full link after
that. Maybe Ricardo has "Open in Browser" in his Windows
Explorer content menu when clicking over an HTML file; I guess we
need to hear from him to find out. ;)

For those of you who get the digest, could you please put the
Subject: you are replying to in the Subject: field and if
originating a post from a digest, please add a Subject: that
helps explain what the message is about. Thanks very much!

Hi Jody,

I'm sure he meant "Open Link" :-) Which we do have ...

Hi Rick, Ricardo, and Eric,

Thanks for reporting the glitch Ricardo and thanks Rick for
translating for me. See below. Eric, the glitch appears to only
be in NoteTab Std/Light.

Well, yes and no. <bg> "Open Link" under the Tools menu in *Pro* is
there, but there is no problem for me using it. On the other
hand, NoteTab Std/Light does not have "Open Link," but instead
has "Open Document Link." I was able to reproduce the glitch in
the latest NoteTab Std/Light.

Subject: keyboard macros

Hi All:

Well, I've read the help files and I've tried the examples and they work.
I modified the examples and they work. BUT - I tried creating my own and it
doesn't work. Huh?

In short, I've been in the habit of creating quick and dirty keyboard
macros that do repetitive processes thousands of times. I need to duplicate
this but in a variety of different environments. I've created my own clip
library and have a bunch of things running there but I still can't figure
out how to get the keyboard macros running. Any suggestions?

	 Thanks for all your help.

I have been away from my computer, traveling, but will

Thanks for your attention.

You are not giving me enough information to answer a question or
help any. Perhaps it would be better if you post what you have
and then be more specific about what you are trying to do.
