This month Steve Harris will demonstrate the details
associated with reading a Palm Pilot database into
a desktop Smalltalk image.

SPEAKER: Alberto Corona from ObjectWave
TOPIC: Persistence and Object Transactions
Bio:
Alberto Corona has several years of experience developing
commercial OO applications with Smalltalk. He specializes
in the creation of development tools and frameworks.
Alberto was the chief architect and lead developer of the
Versant-Argos IDE for IBM Smalltalk. Alberto is currently
a senior consultant with ObjectWave Corporation, and the
lead developer of ObjectWave's Smalltalk tools and
frameworks. He designed and developed ObjectWave
Developer Pro, a persistency and object transaction
framework for Smalltalk/Gemstone.
PRESENTATION: Persistence and Object Transactions
Alberto will speak about an on-going, successful
project which employs the integration of
VisualWorks Smalltalk, GemStone and Java to
develop dynamic applications for the Web. He
will describe how the ObjectWave frameworks
coordinate and enhance these technologies.
