BTW -- Below in James Robertson post to comp.lang.smalltalk he states
that the Smalltalk event in question is in replacement of ObjectExpo's
cancelled Smalltalk Solutions. I just wanted to point out that SIGS
cancelled the entire ObjectExpo conference whose content by far was
largely Java i.e. essentially both the Java and Smalltalk content were
cancelled. This is then our attempt to provide our user group and
customer community with Smalltalk content on what is new and upcoming in
the Smalltalk space.

The big mystery is over. I would like to thank everybody for their
patience. Here it is , we
have organized an event with Cincom to be held March 23rd at the Crowne
Plaze in the heart
of Times Square. Currently our two main presenters are Penn State and
Lockheed Martin. We
are looking to setup some bof sessions or panel discussions on pressing
Smalltalk issues
etc. The time table will be very tight but we hope to perhaps squeeze a
short presentation
on PocketSmalltalk for the Palm Pilot and/ or Squeak.
The presentations deal with the use of Smalltalk in the Internet arena
for some large scale
applications. Should be very interesting. Pass the news to your
colleagues. The event will
probably run thru lunch. However, Cincom will be providing for a light
lunch.
Below you will find what was recently posted to comp.lang.smalltalk by
James Robertson of
Cincom. Any suggestions can be sent to either James or myself .
thanks
Charles
