Review of july's meeting   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #39 of 111 |
Saw a number of new faces this past meeting. Hopefully, those that
were not on this list are now. Anyhow, we got some interesting offers
for presentations and I would appreciate if those individuals that
offered would send me an email to: charles@... and let me know
their preferences with regards to which monthly meeting they would be
able to present.

The potential presentations mentioned are:

A run thru of Joey Gibson PocketST demo followed by a review of the
newly ported PocketST environment to Squeak. (Peter offered to do run
thru the Joey Gibson demo, either Steve Roffman or myself or both
will
take care of the Squeak part, I would also give a brief comparison of
method invocation in Smalltalk as compared to Java )

A discussion of the use of the composite pattern as well as object
recurssion in the context of an Othello like game written in
VisualWorks by one of our members

A discussion on the experiences of one of our members in the
implementation of Extreme Programming techniques/notions at their shop

A possible discussion and demo on an a very cool , without a
doubt best enterprise management system available (which was written
in VisualWorks) by one of our long-term members

Again, to those that the above applies to please send me an email as
soon as feasible.

thanks

Charles
