David Hasegawa who is spearheading the Ernst & Yound involvement in
Smalltalk Solutions 2001 has requested for input from our membership.
Please provide input on issues such as:
tutorials
workshops
demos
birds of a feather sessions
Keep in mind that the conference should also be considered as an
opportunity for Smalltalkers do discuss how we can promote Smalltalk
better i.e. Smalltalk Solutions should not just be technical in
nature.
I'll start the ball rolling by the following suggestion:
Invite at least 3 journalist from the IT trade press to come to
Smalltalk Solutions. Pay for their travel and accomodations. Create a
well thought out press kit which points out ST advantages, success
stories etc, the financial stability of players like Cincom, the
commitment of players like Ernst & Young etc. Provide them with the
press kits so that they can take them home and think. Arrange for a
guided tour at the conference and then of course let them roam freely.
Obviously, this assumes an oustanding content at the conference. Use
monies from the STIC budget. The expense is well worth it.
Any input for David should be sent to the following address:

Please take the time from your busy schedules to at least provide one
suggestion.
thanks
Charles
