The NYC Smalltalk Developer's Group will hold its next meeting on
thursday May 17th at the IBM Building on Madison and 57th.
Agenda
6:30 to 7:30
Extending NamingService
Charles A. Monteiro will demonstrate extensions to NamingService
which allow for enforcement of the service "interface" during
binding, dynamic handling of the regitered service, lookup of a
service by interface and the general usefulness of a "service
registry" even if not in a distributed environment.
This is not meant to be just a "demo" but rather a means of
generating discussion on the subject of "loosely coupled
services" "service oriented architectures" etc.
7:30 to 8:30
IBM Web Services
Tim Bedard and Mark Weitzel of the IBM Smalltalk Product Team will
discuss IBM Smalltalk's implementation of Web Services as well as
discuss future product direction including the future of ENVY.
Out meetings are opened to the general public.
thanks
Charles
