Part One
Steve Harris and Charles Monteiro will review PocketSt Database
protocols
and as well as introduce the notion of a database wrapper which allows
the
developer to treat databases as if they were ordinary ST collections.
Part Two
Charles Monteiro will present an introduction into Squeak 's Morphic UI
Layer.
Morphic was initially developed for Self and has since been
incorporated
into Squeak. The presentation will include aspects of mouse event
handling,
graphics display and animation all of which are core to the interactive
nature of Morphic UI widgets.

Dan Drasin
Director of Engineering
As Director of Engineering for Applied Reasoning, Dan Drasin has lead
the
development of the Company's Java and Smalltalk products, including
Classic
Blend and GeoSynchrony. Dan has developed quality assurance
frameworks
for Applied Reasoning's products, helped numerous clients apply Applied
Reasoning's technology to the customer's problem domain and is in
charge of
the development and maintenance of all Applied Reasoning products. Dan
has
more than five years of object-oriented application development and
three
years of Java development experience. Dan holds Bachelor's Degrees in
Computer Science, Math and Political Science from Indiana University.
