Job Description

The Data Architect will responsible for the design and architecture for the
enterprise data solutions and will create enterprise wide integrated data
architecture. The data architect must be involved in the early stages of
projects and produce data related design deliverables that will enable project
teams to build/modify systems in keeping with the overall data architecture
strategy.
Data Architect will need a demonstrated ability to produce conceptual, logical,
and physical data models. Data Architect must have excellent verbal and written
communication skills in order to document and present data models, strategies,
standards, and concepts to both business and IT audiences
This position will also require working directly with project teams and business
representatives to fully understand data requirements, and organizing those
requirements into data models. Data architect must have a comprehensive
understanding of data management best practices and ability to be a leader in
their implementation. Data architect should have a working knowledge of data
architecture principles, terminology, and data modeling techniques.
Must be able to work independently or as part of a team to develop the required
solutions.


Qualifications

10+ years progressive experience in IT – Analyst, BI data modeler, junior data
architect etc
5+ years with Data/Information architecture of a large enterprise and creating
enterprise data architecture for large enterprise databases in SQL Server 2000
or higher.
5+ years hand-on experience in data modeling, including both relational and
dimensional modeling, storing metadata/data dictionaries within formal modeling
tool and enterprise data integration technologies with large scale enterprise
databases in SQL Server 2000 or higher.
5+ years hand-on experience in leading the design, development and maintenance
of databases and database interfaces for .Net web applications/services.
5+ years experience in working Cognos Business Intelligence tools-
Studio/Manager and Analysis Studio/Transformer, PowerPlay and at least 2+ years
experience in Cognos 8 BI. Must have an extensive experience in performing ETL
operations from enterprise ETL tools, preferably Cognos Data Manager
5+ years experience in building/managing a data Warehouse - data modeling
concept and principles
IBM Certified Developer – "Cognos 8 BI Data Warehouses" is a plus.
